Welcome to Sandra Tetley for GISD School Board!

The Tetleys

I want to be your next Galveston ISD School Board Trustee for District 6-F!  I have a passion for ensuring every child learns to their greatest potential, that schools are flexible for learning styles and levels, and teachers have the utmost support in the classrom!

Education Rocks!

A high quality education can change a life. Education opens the doors to children’s dreams, their future and their economic freedom.  I will always work in the best interest of students, parents and teachers.  I have made a difference in the past. I will continue to make a difference now and in the future as your Board Trustee. Please allow me to represent you, our community and our children as your School Board Trustee for District 6-F.

My Goals as a School Board Trustee:

  • Ensure every student masters the basics – reading, writing and arithmetic
  • Advance education innovation and opportunities to engage our students
  • Redirect wasteful spending to ensure competitive teacher pay
  • Enlist participation from community organizations to mentor at-risk students
  • Improve communication between the School Board and parents, teachers and taxpayers.
  • Seek the input of teachers to evaluate programs, training and support
  • Demand Accountability for reaching the goals of the district and following district policies

Why Sandra Tetley?

After 26 years in Galveston, serving in numerous GISD and community volunteer positions, I'm running because we can no longer continue to keep doing the same thing with the same people and expect different results. We need fresh ideas that have no hidden or self-promoting agenda behind them.  We need someone who successfully works in the district with teachers, students and staff. We need someone who is principled and has integrity, courage and good judgement. We need someone who is willing to stand up and do the right thing.
